Sewer Lateral and Grinder Pump Warranty Program

Homeowners  of Niagara on the Lake, including St Davids, have received two letters from the Lord Mayor announcing the availability of a sewer service line repair coverage. The letters are identical except that the second one extended the deadline for a limited time offer of special pricing  by two weeks to April 18th v. April 4th. It is confirmed that coverage extends to the grinder pump for those households equipped with them. The terms and conditions  applicable to Niagara on the Lake are shown below.  SLW Contract Terms

Ever since the first grinder pumps were installed in St Davids, the St Davids Ratepayers Association has worked hard to convince the Town Council and staff that grinder pump owners have a raw deal. SDRA has constantly lobbied for an equitable solution and, while the service line warranty program does not meet our demand that the Town take ownership and responsibility for the pumps, it goes a long way to easing the anxiety and expense of ownership.

We recommend that all residents, with our without grinder pumps, look seriously at this program. SWLC contact information can be found in the terms and conditions.

February 2017

Those who attended the St Davids Heritage Day 2016 know that it was bigger and better than Heritage Day 2015, our first for 8 years. 2016 net revenues to the St Davids Ratepayers Association (SDRA) beat our expectations.

As a result, the SDRA Board approved grants to local community organizations. On behalf of the general membership, SDRA Treasurer Don Foley presented a cheque for $500 to the St Davids Venturer Scouts to assist them in preparing for an orienteering experience later this year. At about the same time, President Kenn Moody attended a Lions Club Members Dinner to thank the Lions Club for its support of Heritage Day 2016 and to present Lions Club President Al Snyder with a cheque for $500 for use in Lions Club activities locally.

Please put Heritage Day 2017, Saturday September 9th, on your calendar for this year’s event!
